Day hikes and multi-day

Posted by Travel

You can walk from Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula to the mountain town of Parachilna on the Heysen trail, 1 200 km long. You can also alternate the steps of one and several days, choosing between dramatic coastlines, farmland and forests, picturesque towns, valleys lined with vines and strings of jagged mountains. This track offers a view of the most beautiful parts of South Australia. Miss waterfalls in the Deep Creek Nature Park and visit the historic German village of Hahndorf. Taste the wines of the world famous wine region of the Barossa Valley, and admire the remains of the pioneer villages around pastures. Head to the mountain of the Flinders Ranges, where fossils date back thousands of years and where Aboriginal rock art is as old as the Dreamtime. Climb Mt Remarkable and to the edge of a very old crater of Wilpena Pound impressive. Sleep in campsites, huts and shelters or in any of the villages along the trail.
