From the mountain range of South Flinders Ranges to Parachilna Gorge

h4 Cross the historic town of Melrose and begin the easy, scenic climb of Mt Remarkable. Orchids and colorful wildflowers decorate your journey between March and November, and you'll see emus and wallaroos, kookaburras, cockatoos and galahs (cockatoo rosalbins) all year. Do not miss Alligator Gorge in Mt Remarkable National Park, where the old walls of quartzite resemble alligator skin. From here, short trails take you north to a fossilized lake shore, and south to the red canyon covered with moss. Back on the track, you will climb Mount Brown, then along the steep Dutchman's Stern and Pichi Richi Pass to before reaching the historic town of Quorn. You can then decide to provide relief for your tired legs by train Pichi Richi of which goes to Port Augusta. Otherwise, continue walking along Warren Gorge and go through the ruins of the farm Kanyaka Homestead. Discover Aboriginal art caves Yourambulla and climb Mount Arden for views that give men the feeling of being insignificant. Go through the throat Buckaringa before reaching the center of Hawker in the outback. From there, the trail leads you to the majestic Wilpena Pound, a formation created by millions of years of erosion. Walk to the edge, climb the peaks of St Marys and Mt Ohlssen Bagge and go see the abandoned farm in the heart of the rugged crater. Visit the rock Arkaroo nearby, including rock art that covers his flanks tells the story of Creation to the Adnyamathanha Aboriginal. Then follow the trail beyond the mountain ranges of ABC and Heysen, where pine forests plots break the arid landscape. Take a detour to see Brachina Gorge for fossils in ancient sea beds, or stay on the track to see the ruins of an old ranch Aroona Valley. This is the last stop in Flinders Ranges National Park before the track winds its way through the wilderness to the sunburned tourist village of Angorichina. Is often measured in this mountain the coldest temperatures of the state, and the leaves are covered with frost in winter. Cross the park Kaiserstuhl, where you can see the Barossa Valley to the north and Gulf St Vincent in the far south. Scrub, forests and meadows welcome kangaroos and many endemic birds screams. The trail then descends the main street of Tanunda, a great base for exploring the sixty wineries of the Barossa Valley. Visit world-class wineries and follow a culinary trail. Take a course in oenology or watch artisans at work in one of the many workshops in the region. In the historic town of Gawler nearby, you'll find stone churches, galleries and museums. You also enjoy strudel at the German bakery Lyndoch. Back on track, head to Kapunda, the first copper mine in South Australia. Further north is Burra, where you can visit the huge mine 'Monster Mine' and see the remnants of mining operations on the market place. From here, the green hills give way to dry mallee landscape and the remains of the first settlement. You will see abandoned stone buildings covered with plants in flower at the neck of Mt Bryan East Pass, and walk along the High River wall along 65 kilometers, built by pastoralists in 1860. You can even walk along Tourilie Gorge, the first route used by farmers to reach the distant Murray. Cross a viaduct heritage-listed and fish for trout in Spalding. Then travel to Crystal Brook, where the sandstone cliffs mark the beginning of your journey into the mountain Flinders Ranges.

The Fleurieu Peninsula to the mountain ranges of Mt Lofty

h4 Meander from Cape Jervis bypassing the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula to the Deep Creek Nature Park, where cliffs plunge into the Southern Ocean. This is really the most difficult and most exciting rides. Walk to Deep Creek waterfalls, swim or snorkel snorkeling from Boat Harbour Beach, and picnic under the trees with drooping bark, stringybark. Exit the park and follow the wild beach Tunkalilla Beach, winding through the cliffs and across sparkling creeks. In the nature of Newland Head, you can go fishing and surf from the beaches of Parsons and Waitpinga. Try to spot kangaroos, platypus and hundreds of bird species that live there, from the tiny to the majestic delicate mérion large Australian eagle. Admire the colorful wildflowers in spring and whales, seals and eagles blagres in winter. Stand on the cliffs forming steep headlands to admire the view on Waitpinga Creek, Encounter Bay and Kangaroo Island. From Kings Beach, the path heads north through reserves and rolling hills, forests and farms. Pause to see Glacier Rock, old 500 million years in Inman Valley then made the difficult ascent of the natural park mountains of Myponga. The tops of hills offer panoramic views of valleys and mountain ranges they dominate. Go through the gastronomic center of Mount Compass and climb to the top of Mount Magnificent for more great views. Drive through forests of pine and eucalyptus to the Adelaide Hills at the start of the chain of Mount Lofty Mountains. You can sleep in cottages Bavarian-style, and see the house of artist Sir Hans Heysen in the historic German village of Hahndorf. Admire the koalas and parrots nesting in the trees and walk amongst rhododendrons and camellias in the botanic gardens at the foot of Mount Lofty.

You can also alternate the steps of one and several days, choosing between dramatic coastlines, farmland and forests, picturesque towns, valleys lined with vines and strings of jagged mountains. This track offers a view of the most beautiful parts of South Australia. Miss waterfalls in the Deep Creek Nature Park and visit the historic German village of Hahndorf. Taste the wines of the world famous wine region of the Barossa Valley, and admire the remains of the pioneer villages around pastures. Head to the mountain of the Flinders Ranges, where fossils date back thousands of years and where Aboriginal rock art is as old as the Dreamtime. Climb Mt Remarkable and to the edge of a very old crater of Wilpena Pound impressive. Sleep in campsites, huts and shelters or in any of the villages along the trail.

Nullarbor Roadhouse to Ceduna

h4 Traveling by Yalata Aboriginal land and will need a permit to leave the main road. You can obtain a permit to station guards at White Well, on the short journey to the promontory of Head of Bight. Standing on the cliffs towering Bunda Cliffs of you will see whales mate and calve in these protected waters between May and October. Back on the road, will see Aboriginal art and crafts at Yalata Roadhouse relay road and continue to the next relay, Nundroo, where you can turn south to the picturesque Fowlers Bay fishing harbor. Watch whales from the top of rugged cliffs, walk along the sand dunes and white beaches and spot the animals to the natural park of Fowlers Bay. Back on the road and continue until Penong where you can see windmills and surf rolls first class beach Cactus Beach. Taste succulent oysters in Denial Bay on the way to Ceduna, on the sandy curves of Murat Bay. From there, you can return by plane to Adelaide or hit the road for almost 800 kilometers.

Border Village to Nullarbor roadhouse

h4 Embark on a challenging adventure in 4x4 along the old national, along the Eyre Highway, the new road, nearly 200 kilometers. Note that this route is prone to flooding and requires good preparation. Otherwise, follow the Eyre Highway through Nullarbor National Park, along the cliffs of Bunda Cliffs. Go to the southern coast of Australia fall into the ocean from one of the five views shown on the edge of the cliff. Be careful if you walk along the limestone cliffs of the mountains.
